Everyone has different needs and we will work with you to ensure your care is tailored to appropriately fit your needs. We know how important it is for you to remain living in your home, connected to your community, for as long as possible.

Our goal is to make sure aging at home is as comfortable and enjoyable as possible.

We provide quality, compassionate home care and will work with you, or your family, to make sure you get exactly what you need.

What is Home Care?

A Home Care Package is a game changer if you’re finding that you need more support at home. It will offer you with a higher level of support beyond what is offered with the Commonwealth Home Support Programme (CHSP).

If you’re starting to feel that your CHSP does not cover what you need, it’s time to apply for a Home Care Package. This will help you with everyday tasks tailored to the level of care you need whether that’s basic or extensive.

A Home Care Package gives you access to affordable support services all from the comfort of your own home. Alternatively, you could reach out to My Aged Care (MAC) to get an update and/or request a reassessment.

A Home Care Package for You

With a Home Care Package you can have access to a team of care managers, care workers, nurses, doctors, creative therapists, and allied health professionals who can provide multiple holistic support services based on your individual needs and level of care.

You will also get access to a dedicated Care Coordinator who will ensure you receive the most appropriate support possible, taking away the stress of managing your own care arrangements. It’s an excellent system that is supportive, helpful, and dedicated to helping you maintain your independence and stay at home for as long as possible. To maximise the benefits to you, we limit the number of clients for each Coordinator so that you have regular contact with them, especially when you need it.

If you are eligible for a Home Care Package, then the amount you pay is dependent on your specific situation. You may have to pay a basic daily fee, an income-tested care fee and/or additional fees.

Here’s How it Works

Determine if you’re eligible

You are eligible for a government-subsidised Home Care Package if:

  • You are over the age of 65
  • You want to continue living at home
  • You require support to live independently in your home

Register with My Aged Care

First, you will need to apply online at My Aged Care.

The online application takes about 15-20 minutes to complete, and you can complete the application yourself or have a family member or friend do it for you. It’s the same form to apply for all types of care and support including help at home, short-term care, and care in an aged care home.

From there, and depending on your situation, you might be asked to speak with a representative. This will be arranged for you after you submit your application.

The Aged Care Assessment (ACAT) team will assess you

A member of the ACAT team will visit your home to assess your eligibility and confirm the level of care you will need.

After this, you will receive a letter from My Aged Care within a few weeks notifying whether you have been approved for a package and the level of care you are eligible for.

You will be placed on a waiting list

Once your application is approved for a Home Care Package, you will then be placed on a waiting list until a package is assigned to you.

Depending on the Home Care Package level you chose, your waiting time can range from weeks to several months.

Those with higher or more urgent needs are prioritised to receive services sooner. Learn more about expected wait times.

You are assigned a Home Care Package

Congratulations! You have received a letter from My Aged Care advising you that you have been assigned your Home Care Package. This means that your government funding is now available, and you can access the services you require.
